BEAD Challenge Underway (Correct Information)

Cameron County Commissioners are assisting property owners who feel they have zero or limited access to broadband internet services. The current phase of the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Challenge Process enables units of local government, non-profit organizations, and broadband service providers to dispute the level of internet access across the Commonwealth and will run through May 23rd. Cameron County property owners who believe there are inadequacies may call (814) 341-4703 or mail the Commissioners at Cameron County Courthouse, Commissioners/BEAD Challenge, 20 East Fifth Street, Emporium, PA 15834 with the affected address and the challenge reason on or before May 17, 2024. Recreation Center Renovations on the Horizon

The Cameron County Commissioners and the Cameron County Recreation Center are in the process of making significant renovations to the Cameron County Recreation Center (aka “Memorial Hall.”)

Mid Cameron Authority Public Notice

PUBLIC NOTICE
AS A COURTESY TO ALL MID-CAMERON AUTHORITY CUSTOMERS: Notice is hereby given that pursuant to powers granted under existing Ordinances, the Mid-Cameron Authority Board members will consider adoption of a certain Resolution outlined below at their regularly scheduled public meeting to be held on February 28, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. in the Council Room located on the first floor of the Emporium Borough Municipal Building, 421 North Broad Street, Emporium, PA 15834.

Due to increased expenses, the proposed Resolution authorizes Mid-Cameron Authority to implement the following rate and fee changes effective March 1, 2024:

  1. The vacancy rate previously offered to customers under limited circumstances is abolished, and all customers will be billed at the base uniform commercial or residential rate as applicable.
  2. The base usage rate for residential customers will be lowered from 2000 cubic feet per quarter to 1800 cubic feet per quarter.
  3. In addition to the current fees charged to customers for delinquent account collection efforts, the following additional administrative fees will be imposed against delinquent customers for Notices of Delinquency: 10 Day = $2.00 per Notice; 3 Day or 48 Hour = $5.00 per Notice; and Shut-Off Notice = remain at current $20.00 per Notice.

The Mid-Cameron Authority welcomes public comment on these proposed changes.
