Siren Warning System Information for the George B Stevenson Dam

Test – There will be a test of the system the first Saturday of every month at noon. This test will use a Westminster Chime tone that will sound for 10 seconds and then you will hear the following announcement: Attention, this is a test of the George B. Stevenson Dam warning system. Early Warning Notification  This is an notification that will be sounded when the water level in the dam rises to the Elevation level of 1011 feet which is 15 feet below the crest of the spillway and is rising or following the occurrence of an earthquake in the general region of the dam. The tone used is called an alternate steady tone and will play for a 20 second duration followed by this announcement: Attention. Attention. This is an Early Warning Notification for the George B. Stevenson Dam. Prepare to evacuate. Alert your neighbors now. Take action now – Alternate Steady tone – 20 seconds – Attention. Attention. Evacuation Notification – This notification will be sounded when the water level in the dam reaches the threshold Elevation level of 1020 feet which is 6 feet below the crest of the emergency spillway. The tone used is called a warble wave tone that will sound for 30 seconds and then you will hear the following announcement : Warning. Warning. The George B Stevenson Dam has reached the evacuation level, evacuate immediately, evacuate immediately Alert your neighbor – Warble Wave Tone – 30 seconds – the George B Stevenson Dam has reached the evacuation level, leave the area immediately. General Safety Concerns – This will be used for general emergencies that require specific action or notification NOT related to the dam. This notification will use a pulsed wail that will sound for a 15 second duration. A voice announcement will be used to alert you to the specific concern or threat. All Clear – This will be used to end any emergency and allow you to resume your normal activity. It used a Pulsed Steady Tone for 15 seconds then you will hear the following announcement: All Clear.
