Prothonotary's Office

The Cameron County Prothonotary’s Office is actually comprised of 4 county offices. 

 The Prothonotary,

 Recorder of Deeds,

Register of Wills

 and Clerk of Courts

 offices are all combined into one office in the Cameron County Courthouse.

The Prothonotary’s Office is where all civil filings occur.  Divorces, Civil Complaints, Judgments, Tax Liens, Foreclosure Actions, Custody and Protection from Abuse Actions are all filed here.

The Recorder of Deeds Office handles the recording and indexing of Deeds, Mortgages, Satisfactions, Leases etc… for all property located in Cameron County.

The Register of Wills Office handles the probate and issuance of Letters of Administration or Letters Testamentary in an Estate.

The Clerk of Courts Office files all criminal cases which are bound over to Common Pleas Court.

Other services our Offices provide are:  Passport Applications, Marriage License Applications, Birth and Death Record Applications, Genealogical Records and Notary Service (excluding title work).
